G.A. Glenn
18 Herbert Street
Alberton, SA.
This item is from July, 1938, a brand which hasn't cropped up before. At least this Glenn is built by someone in possession of the Glenn name, and featuring the very modern feature of a steel frame.
Of interest (to me) is the reference in the second paragraph to the Glenn having "all the features of the Quality Caravan." Why capitals for "Quality Caravan" if it is a reference to the standard of the van rather than reference to a competitor brand? If it was a reference to the standard of build, shouldn't it read "all the features of a quality caravan?"
'Quality' isn't recorded as a brand (yet) but H.W. Burgess, also in Adelaide, advertised his vans at the same time under the heading "Quality Caravans." I'm no scholar of grammar (as anyone who reads my posts would know) so am I just reading too much into some common word usage?
At least we know what this one looked like.
