Battens Caravans.

Mr. W.J. Batten
93 Wellington Street,
Launceston.
This advertisement gives full details of a 14 foot caravan advertised in the Examiner (Launceston) on 4 October, 1934, and its the earliest caravan advertisement I recall seeing which has an illustration and such detailed description, everything is described right down to the steps. It sounds as though it would have been quite striking in cream and maroon.
It seems odd that such a detailed advertisement should just 'pop up' without any preliminary less detailed advertisements, but there it is. As I continue my trolling on 'Trove' over time it will be interesting to see if anything further appears for Battens.
