Cargill Caravanette.
84 Great Eastern Highway.
Victoria Park.
Perth.
It seems as though the Cargill name started out in camping and canvas goods as this 1952 ad shows.
Around the mid 1960's the Perth based retailer started manufacturing the Cargill Caravanette, which is basically a box trailer with a tent that folds out of it, as shown in this 1968 ad.
The ad above also shows that by this stage Cargills had outlets in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The 3 models of the Cargill Caravanette .
The Standard.
The basic 6 foot trailer unit that has 2 beds at 2 foot 3 inch wide which fold out one from each side, a pale green canvas cover and 8 foot long striped annex.
The Delux.
Is the identical unit as the Standard but has a better quality Warden canvas roof on the cover and annex and the sides are of orange waterproof Duradex.
The Premier.
This trailer unit is 7 foot long, with the beds at 3 feet wide. It has a rear folding step and the cover and annex roof are of Warden canvas, and the sides are of orange waterproof Duradex, but on this model the annex is 9 foot long.

This very original 1967 Cargill caravanette is the "DELUX" 6 ft model which still has its original Warden canvas roof on the cover and annex and the sides are of orange waterproof Duradex.

Re: Cargill Caravanette.
Some more Cargill advertising, the dates and source are part of the title, mostly for the Melbourne distributor, Holiday Equipment Pty Ltd.

The following is part of a half page Holiday Equipment's advert. A different style annex is shown on this one. On this occasion they also advertised the Wurley Camping Trailer as well, posted under Camper Caravans.
The final two are interesting in that they both appeared in the same issue of Australian Motor Manual, one each for the Melbourne and Sydney agents.
All are being pitched to the small car owner; "Even a Mini can tow it."George
