These two photos also came from Graeme Parsons and show a lantern roof caravan his dad, Aubrey, borrowed for a trip to Goulburn in 1948, before eventually building his own van. Tow vehicle is a 1939 Ford utility.
Anybody have any idea of what brand the lantern roof might be I love the style of these vans, especially with the little chimney.
Thanks to Graeme for sharing his dad's caravan adventures.

This first one is outside the George IV Inn at Picton, just before the 'hole in the wall', for those who know the spot, on what was then the Hume Highway. Mum is certainly well dressed for travelling. The George is still there, unchanged, except there is no palm tree now, it's a popular weekend watering hole and has a couple of palatable local brews
The second photo is in Sloane Street, Goulburn and while I'm not familiar with it I could well imagine it might not have changed much either. Great to see the old cars from the 1920s still in use, I remember as a kid lots of old tourers in Camden where I lived, but they quickly fell by the wayside as tighter registration inspections were introduced.Anybody have any idea of what brand the lantern roof might be I love the style of these vans, especially with the little chimney.
Thanks to Graeme for sharing his dad's caravan adventures.
