I thought it might be interesting to have a look at some of the old brochures that I have in my collection from caravan parks.
So to start with we have brochure for the Canodolas Caravan Park at Orange. Iam not sure of the age but Iam sure we will work something out as we go along.

Good one Richard, do you want to include advertising for Caravan Parks here too
I've been going to start a thread for a few I've run across.
They didn't give an actual address, one can only hope it wasn't on Mount Conobolas, bit of a pull up there on a dirt road with a van.
Point 9 relating to garbage was interesting. My mum
always wrapped food scraps in newspaper. We used to get the paper every day, it got rid of the papers in a useful way (before recycling) and kept the bin clean and the Louis' at bay. I was horrified years later when I spent some time working on a garbage truck between jobs to whip the lid off bins and find all sorts floating in a sea of half rotted food scraps and maggots, I led a sheltered life it seems, and 'unhygienic acts'
to be reported, the mind boggles

Hi George.
Great idea for the caravan park ads, but what about starting a new topic, as Iam sure there will be lots to post both here and in an ad section.
Cheers.
Palliers Motel and Caravan Park. Tom Ugly's Point. For tourists only. I just love the bevvy of beauties and the "gayley" painted front to the motel on the first page.

Another brochure for the Canobolas Caravan Motel, which looks to be a later edition.

Lakeside Caravan Park Woolgoolga.
Not sure what the condition of the park was like but the original owner of the brochure wrote "poor" on it in pen.

This card from the Gin Gin Caravan Park was given to me on arrival in 1974 when I camped there for one night on my way back from Cairns. It had been a wet trip and I had an uneasy night in the tent as it poured rain. When we left in the morning we were told there had been 4 inches of rain overnight!
The illustration on the card is probably considered 'culturally insensitive' these days and looks like it was penned by Jolliffe, the cartoonist who gave us Saltbush Bill and other Aussie characters. The rear of the card provided the park rules. A transfer for the park was also available with the same illustration, in colour, and I still have it and have made a copy which is on the window of the Debonair. At Motorfest last year I had almost as many comments about it as the van.
