G'day Richard,
Looking at the Glida advert, one must assume that it was very finely balanced and self-propelled in the manner of the modern Segway scooter! You'd certainly have trouble towing it as it stands!
I've often looked at this advert and wondered why it was presented this way.

Here's another advert with the same illustration, I hadn't twigged as to why it looked different. This one is from "NRMA Camping and Caravanning in N.S.W", the 1956 issue I think. They were certainly pitching their wares to everyone, even overseas visitors and open 7 days and nights, maybe lived on the premises? No phone numbers given on this advert.

1965 souvenir vintage caravan brochure for Glida caravans from the caravan and mobile home exhibition.
It is interesting to note that Glida are now resellers of Hilandale and Wayfarer Caravans.
Another interesting item is the Wayfarer listed below as it is available in full aluminium OR aluminium and fibreglass panels that are hard to distinguish from aluminium. (I presume that they are talking about the small diamond pattern aluminium.)
