The Things We Do.

Linda and I have just returned from another road trip down South to bring another lovely caravan back from Victoria.
We left on Friday unsure of what the weather was doing, and about 20 kms out of Gundagai the sky had turned black and I have never seen so much lightning before, a few of the trucks had pulled over, and Linda said in a worried voice "it cant be too good ahead if the trucks are pulling over". We pressed on to Gundagai and spent the night, several times we were woken with heavy rain.
The next morning, still heading South we ran into several storms. We had to drive through several sections of flooded road with the longest outside of Rushworth, which was about 200m long and about 150mm deep.
The weather for the rest of the trip wasnt too bad but we did hear on the radio of homes at Wagga Wagga and Gundagai that were evacuating.
Here are a few photos of the water at South Gundagai as we were driving over the bridge along the express way on the way home.
Gundagai should have been renamed Lake Gundagai with all this water about.
Any road trip isnt complete without a stop at the dog on the tucker box at Gundagai.
