Drifta Caravans.
Jack Wedlock.
41 Hyne St. Maryborough. Qld.
Jack completed his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and in the mid 1950's started a business called Drifta Caravans. As the business name suggests he built caravans as well as timber boats and other timber bodies that were made to order. In the early 1960's Jack's son Tony joined the business for a couple of years and they supplied customers around the Maryborough district with caravans. Drifta Caravans continued up till the early 1970's when it was finally closed down.
Jack is now 84 and has only just recently sold a campervan that he converted a couple of years ago, as he is now considering his retirement.
The following two photos are of a Drifta Caravan that Jack built in 1963 to go with the owners Pink and white Holden.
