This one was a bit of a surprise, an imported British van in Newcastle. An interesting style with the cute 'aerotail' and the wheels to the rear which must put a bit of weight on the tow ball.
And a couple of interior views as well.
Both items from Newcastle Morning Herald 14 October, 1934.

Here's another one from Newcastle area, home made with a bit of wind resistance to be sure.
Featured in the Newcastle Morning Herald etc., 29 November, 1938. A note refers to an article but I couldn't find reference to the van, there was a large article about the Masonite factory, possibly the material used.

Thanks for posting..
The Masonite factory use to be near Heatherbrae/Raymond Terrace..Just North of Newcastle along the Pacific Hwy
It was located off to the right from what is now a roundabout..
The road is called "Masonite Road"...... for obvious reasons.

Another example of what is likely a van built in the 1930s from The Garage and Motor Trader magazine 15 December, 1941. It was part of a item on the Brig Gas Producer, which appears to have been a little more compact than some of the others I've seen. The 'loop' over the roof is probably part of the radio aerial, the one offered by GMH was centrally mounted up the windscreen. it would all make for a stunning outfit today.
