Hi All
Not too sure how many sites are left available at Horse shoe bay van park.
But if you are considering going , you better do what Phill and Veronica from Woolongong have done ... and book a site.
Thanks for the text message guys...Glad to hear you are going
We look forward to seeing that beautiful black Chevy Pickup and the silver van on site 77 ( sunset strip )

Hi All
I have had a few phone calls asking what events we have lined up at SWR during our stay there.
A bit of ground work going on ...
Possibly a Movie night at the old cinema. .. could end a fancy dress night to suit the title of whatever movie is on??.. stay tuned
Definitely a night out ( looking like wednesday night ) as a group to the Hotel across the road from the park. I have organised "Courtesy thongs" for us so we dont have to drive home .
A cruise over to The Slim Dusty Centre and then on out to The Pub with No beer at Taylors Arms one day during the week. Keeping in mind that some people will have travelled a long way to get to SWR , so we dont wanna pile back into the cars on the sunday or monday.. i would imagine these 2 days will be laid back days just checking out the Trial Bay Gaol and Smokey Cape Lighthouse. There is a good Bakery in town as well as a few nice little coffee shops.
We will have a "Sandwich Board "set up somewhere near my van so we can write on it whats doin the next day so people can make a choice whether to tag along with the crew or goof off and do there own thing. ...Given that a lot of people have taken annual leave to go to SWR , we dont wanna be dictating what they should be doing with their free time.. .
Just a case of making the choice on the day.
The tour to the rally is shaping up to be just as enjoyable as the stay at the rocks....3 days of cruisin through nice easy coastal country and staying at beautifull parks along the way .. a total of 12 vans.
Thats it for now.. sorry about the lack of updates,,,,Computer collapse.. internet connection problems... and a glitch with login to the forum...The moon and stars must be in alingnment at 3.23am Tuesday morning 9/2/2016.... i can return to bed now
Regards

Re: The "www.ourtouringpast.com"- Anniversary Rally 2016
Hi All
Well here it is.. 1st of March.
I would imagine that anyone that has been considering going to SWR for the OTP Rally would have made a decision by now and either rang the Horseshoe Bay Caravan Park and booked in from Saturday 2nd April through to whatever day they plan on leaving to head home..
I have recieved a text message from a member stating that he was yarning with a certain couple that happen to have a very Large pale blue and white Ford convertible that tows a very nice matching Purdon. Its appears that they .. and their soccer star Spaniel named "Trevor" are giving the tour and rally some serious consideration .
The Rally organizers will be contacting them and delivering a motivational speech today.
I have promised the park managers that i would contact them at the start of this month and finalize sites and numbers attending.
So.... If for whatever reason you are unable to attend ... but have booked a site . Could you please contact the park and let them know that you will not be attending. Not only will you stand a better chance of getting at least some of your deposit back .. you may well be freeing up a site amongst the vintage vans so that someone else with a vintage van.. that may have been given a site away from the group the opportunity to move on to your site....
So... make sure if you ring to cancel your booking that you mention that you where with the vint van group, and ask that someone who was allocated a site away from the group be given your site.
Its not a big task and i am sure the lucky recipient of your site will thank you for making the effort..
Sorta.. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you " .... so to speak
Not long now folks .. i have been hearing some amazing stories of the lengths that people are going to in an attempt to either have vans finished, or buy a second usable van just so they can be in SWR for what is shaping up to be a big week in vintage vanning for both www.ourtouringpast.com and www.vintagecaravans.com groups... must be edging up towards 200 vans... a veritable feast for the eyes, and an opportunity not only to enjoy our vans .. but a chance to wander between the 2 vint van venues in SWR to catch up with members/old mates who have travelled from the far flung corners of OZ just to be part of it.
I am looking forward to that...
All good for now.
Cheers

Ok...Listen up Groovers and Trendsetter
as Maurie would say..
"ITS CRUNCH TIME "
I have just spoken to Nanette at The Horshoe Bay Caravan Park.
She has done a bit of a count up and she states that 16 sites have been paid for as of today 8/3/2016.
She can see some of the bookings/sites set aside for us V.Vers havent been confirmed or deposits paid
Now ya dont have to be an Einstien to realise that if you havent contacted the park and booked/paid by now there is more than a slight chance you wont have a site when you arrive at the park. .. and ... bugger all chance of getting a site at any other park either.... thats even sadererer..
The managers have been really good with making space for us and its up to us to do the right thing and get our act together.
I dont know who hasnt paid yet...
But... . Nanette is working through the list of wannabees today and will phone me later with names of those with unpaid deposits.
I wont do a name and shame here on the site... and i should not have to try and chase peoples emails / contact numbers to give em a wake up call.
I would have thought that everyone that has an interest in coming to the rally would have been following our constant requests here on the forum about coughing up the deposits
Rant rant grumble grumble... spit and cuss....
You will be hearing from our solicitor shortly ...

Re: The "www.ourtouringpast.com"- Anniversary Rally 2016
Just got off the phone to Nannette again.
Can Sally Parker ( 3 sites in her name )
Phillmac ( 2 sites in your name mate... ,maybe saving one for Mary Miller ???)
and Lisa Holman... ( 2 sites in your name)
Please contact the van park and discuss your sites with the management.
Things have got a bit messy... not too messy... but its a bit of a shock to find that i was one of the first to pay... (and Jennison was next i think.??) on the 12th May last year and have been kicked off site 24.... whoa.... .... unless i am sharing it with Sally Parker ...
