This thread refers to both 'Carefree' caravans and camper trailers that were built by S H Cordell at 190 Hampton Street, Hampton from the 1930's, and 'Carefree' caravans which were sold from 198 Darling Road, East Malvern from around 1955 on. I'm pretty sure that these were two separate outfits here.
In 1956 S H Cordell was still building his camper trailers - which were now called Cordell Folding Tralier Caravans rather than Carefree Caravanettes - in Hampton, while Carefree Caravans were located in East Malvern. In addition, I believe that the Carefree Caravans in East Malvern were built by a family called Harris.
