Hi Jenno
How many could they have made? There couldn't have been that big a demand for something this big. I doubt if the Customline in the brochure photo would have towed it with the hitch that is on the Jones Dolly.
Cheap enough, it would cost more than that to get it moved I should think. Fingers crossed.

Jennison Caravans.
Re: Jennison Caravans.
Hi George from the looks of it the original jones hitch has been cut off. That plate and hole must have been welded on so they could shift it around I'd Say.
Yes you'd love to know how many they made indeed!

Re: Jennison Caravans.
A custom built pre-war Jennison, looks more like a Carapark! Nothing like having a Tiger's head for a wall decoration in your van. A nice Chev Sloper to tow it with, what more could a man want? The company name of Jennison Caravan Cruisers Pty., Ltd., is a bit of a mouthful.

Re: Jennison Caravans.
What a find George. It’s a wildeshott caravan.
The jennison wildeshott caravan has always been shrouded in a bit of mystery. We had no hard evidence but it strongly pointed to the “coles family” who started the coles supermarket chain in Launceston? commissioning its construction. How many other Coles could have had the money to have purpose built caravan constructed for them and shipped to Tasmania (and then to be going tiger hunting to boot!)
it’s fantastic to have this theory confirmed with this article.
Along with various photos of mrs Coles and the van I have some great photos of it being loaded on the ship TSS Zealandia to be shipped to Tasmania on 8th feb 1939. Surprised I haven’t given them to richard.
Can do Richard if you want to expand the thread now george has found this
Well found ,well done and thanks
