Hi Richard and Hughdeany,
The Moreland built caravans sold by Les Gough, proprietor of Hawthorn Caravans, were sold under the 'Burwood' brand name.

Re: Boris and The Electronic Swagman
Hi George,
I reckon this is a 15 ft Flynn caravan from the early 50's. The unusual rear window and squarish front (looking from the side) give it away.
Great to see it if it is a Flynn. Not many of their vans survived.

Re: All Care and Camber Caravans
Hi George, Sunbeam caravans were a range of vans produced by Skyline. They looked very similar if not identical to the Skyline range, but were advertised as being 'outstanding for value' and £100+ cheaper. From that I gather that they were Skyline's 'budget' models, perhaps kitted out a bit more spa...

Re: C & W Caravans.
Hi Richard and Hughdeany, Actually you have seen some examples of this manufacturer's caravans before Richard... C&W Industries in WA produced Aristocrat and Aristavan caravans. Mind you none of the ones I've seen of these two brands look like the van on this thread, though. So is it an earlier ...

Re: Rolls-Royce motor caravan.
Hi Griffin and Richard, I can help with a bit of info. The Rolls Royce motorhome in the photo was built for G R Nicholas by Romany Road, which was one of the pre-World War II Victorian caravan manufacturers. Nicholas was George Richard Rich Nicholas, a pharmacist who developed the Aspro during World...

Re: Land Cruiser Caravans.
G'day Griffin, I have the same question marks over the above photo as you. Apart from anything else, it's hard to imagine that the van is quite big enough to fit in all the features listed, and we do know that it was not uncommon for the wrong photos to get attached to articles. However, until we fi...

Re: Crusader Caravans (Australia - pre war)
Hi Griffin, Ah, Care-Free and Brewer, yes. I can confirm that Brewer had a van on display, because I have a newspaper item indicating that he Brewer won the 'Queen of the Show' award. I think it was with their van that had the built-in space for a six-seater dinghy. I'm not sure about Sportsman thou...

Re: Crusader Caravans (Australia - pre war)
Congratulations on the results of your further research, Griffin! It is so satisfying when you can find another bit of info about the origins of an elusive brand/make of caravan. And I agree with you that the little sign near the door definitely seems to say 'Crusader Caravan(s). It would be good to...

Re: Crusader Caravans (Australia - pre war)
G'day Griffin, What a fantastic photo, and how good is the detail you can see in the enlargement? Very nicely done! Can't say I've seen any references to Crusader caravans either, and I haven't been able to turn up anything on them. Hopefully now you've posted this photo something will emerge - it o...
