Re: Reddos 1960 Supalite Atlas Resto

Doors turned out real good and your hinges look like new.
A lot of elbow grease put in no doubt

Re: Reddos 1960 Supalite Atlas Resto

Looks good Reddo I would have the join of the rubber at the bottom and fill the gap with black sikaflex/silastic. Should save installing a bilge pump. The stain/varnish cupboard doors will look classy but we found in the Rowvan that it also makes it dark inside. Our cupboard doors are walnut veneer ...

Re: Propert rebuild 1959?

Thanks Reddo Been away for the week with work so not much progress during the week. During the weekend, I attached the RHS ply with sikaflex 252 and some galvanised nails http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll183/Gudenswager/IMG_0901_zpsf7jym6cc.jpg Even just with this side done and secured the van i...

Re: Propert rebuild 1959?

Have progressed some more over the last fortnight Was unable to bend timber for the rear frame so made some up out of strips of 4mm ply. I cut the ply into strips the width I wanted and using Selleys Aquadhere polyurethane glue I glued the strips together and clamped them to the rear of the Propert ...

Re: Propert rebuild 1959?

Thanks Richard. If you look at the fourth photo (from the start) you will see that the roof is slightly sagged in the centre where the window is. I have removed the ply and the timber "beam" that goes across supporting the window is not damaged, just sagged by nearly half inch. Not sure on...

I like the blue. Depending on what you do with curtains and trimmings, it will look really good

Re: Propert rebuild 1959?

Wasn't much of a photo for you to go on Gordo and the studie did look similar in that shot. Couldn't do any glueing today as my glue had gone solid. Guess it had been nearly 2 years since I used it. Made the timber replacements for both front corners today LHS http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll18...

Re: Propert rebuild 1959?

Hi DC3TD.
I think George was interested as he thought he sniffed out a Vauxhall.
Yes George, it is a Vauxhall. It is a 1960 PAY Velox.
Rust has all been removed except for one small portion in the rh sill and it is all in primer waiting for me to get back to it.
Cheers, nac

Re: Propert rebuild 1959?

Hi Reddo Yep, bit of punishment but I reckon we do it because we are thinking of how it will be when we are finished, towing it to our next adventure. Took the front panel off today http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll183/Gudenswager/IMG_0807_zpsrwgq9b3x.jpg bit of repairing to do on the rh front t...

Propert rebuild 1959?

Hi all. I purchased a Propert late last year which required some work. Year is unknown but the seller had been told it was 1959 Anyhow, the top has a lot of damage from sweating under a poly tarp outside the garage. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll183/Gudenswager/IMG_0769_zpsrgu5rxuv.jpg http:/...
