Linda and I have been away for a few days on a bit of a round trip, we did about 1500km and came home with this today..
Gypsy side.JPG
Its a 1950 Gypsy 10 ( 10 ' long ) The outside needs stripping back and repainting and the inside is in fairly good condition altho it did have a good layer of Gilgandra dust every where inside.

The van was last registered in 1980 and its a bit hard to read but it looks as tho the rego No was AN 6208 and the Tare weight was 560. It even came with a full annex in very good condition.

Hi, Im a new member, I joined because Ive acquired, A Gypsy 10 also.
Mine looks to be in a similar condition to yours, Im going to restore mine, and tow it with my 1937 chevy roadster,
my gypsy was out in a paddock in Gulgong NSW before I got it.

How did you find out the age of your gypsy?

Hi Gypsyrose.
Welcome to the ourtouringpast.com website.
That is a very nice Gypsy you have there, and the van and layout are nearly identical to mine.
I did notice that the little CTIA badge you have has 2843 stamped on it where mine has 2619 stamped on it, and the Gypsy Caravan Company badge is also a little different to mine with the phone numbers on mine starting with XA and XB, maybe this is a bit of a clue to the age of the vans.
I know of only a couple of other Gypsys and one is nearly falling apart so they are a rare little van.
Ill add your images to the Library section if that is OK.

Cheers.
Richard.

Hi Gypsyrose.
Just as a matter of interest I have added a photo of the CTIA badge and a photo of the coupling on my Gypsy, which looks to be an older style coupling with an older style jockey wheel. Does your van have a serial no stamped on the side below the coupling ? Mine is stamped as 766.

I just went and had a look, mine has no numbers on it, the jockey wheel is welded on, the jockey wheel looks like a later add on, not original .
